a twenty-something girl's thoughts, confessions, and learning lessons and trying to find herself in this mad world.

Teeth Diet

Yep, that is my mouth. I am doing the best I can to cut out sugars and acidic foods and add more vitamins into my diet. I don't know if you can see in the back but my two bottom molars are already looking dark and my last wisdom tooth on the right there has some decay on the back. I just had two wisdom teeth pulled and I was upset about that because growing up I have always had perfect teeth with no cavities. Then I turned 21, and missing a couple of dental appointments because of college really messed me up. I had one cavity that has ruined my mouth. Now I am told that I need a root canal there and the tooth next to it--the bacteria has jumped to that tooth. The dentist told me I needed a filling. It is so sensitive. I am doing my research. I'm taking K2 and D3 vitamins to help absorb calcium and sometimes rinse with coconut oil. I also found some xylitol gum.

But with my diet, I cut out my favorite thing. Cookies! Because of that, I lost 6 lbs. I no longer eat potato chips either. I slipped and ate a donut the other day. I hate myself for that though. I also bought organic butter which is supposed to be better for you and has important vitamins in it such as K2. I researched this when I kept stumbling across this guy named Weston A. Price. Who had some children eat a strict diet of Cod Liver Oil (fermented)/ and Butter oil. And I think in a month or something the cavities were gone! So I am willing to try anything. I have 5 months until my next dentist appt. so I hope it will be a positive one. My mouth is actually still in pain from the wisdom teeth being pulled back in June! I don't know why, I must not be getting enough nutrients. Getting them pulled this time was the worst. I couldn't eat right for 3 weeks and some morning I would wake up so weak because I could still barely chew and I was so afraid of dry socket. Thank goodness I didn't get that.
